Getting started with the exori app
exori is a real development environment on your iPhone: an editor with syntax highlighting and search, an AI agent that writes into your project, git, and deploys. This page walks through the first session, from signing in to shipping something.
About 10 minutes
Sign in
There is no password. Enter your email, and a six-digit PIN arrives in your inbox — the same flow for signing up and signing back in. Sessions persist in the iOS Keychain, so you do this once per device.
Choose how you pay for AI
The first launch asks once how you want to cover model usage. There is no paywall blocking your way in, and you can change your mind later from Account.
| Path | What you get |
|---|---|
| Pay as you go | 500 promo credits to start. Top up with credit packs whenever you run low. |
| Subscribe | A monthly credit allowance at a better rate than packs, with a free trial on the starter tier. |
| Bring your own keys | Use your own Anthropic or OpenAI keys. Model usage is billed by them, not us — exori does not spend credits on runs your own key covers. |
Create or import a project
The Create tab offers three routes, and they are genuinely different things — pick by what you already have.
Add an existing project
Connect GitHub or GitLab, pick a repo, and exori clones it. This is the route for work that already exists — nothing is generated, nothing is rewritten.
Build a native app on your Mac
Scaffolds a Swift, Flutter or React Native project from a template, pushes it to your git host, and imports the result. This one needs Bridge paired and a git provider connected, since the scaffold runs on your Mac and needs somewhere to push to.
Website or web app
The AI wizard: describe what you want, answer the agent's questions, pick a look, and it generates a project you can deploy from the phone. No Mac involved.
Find your way around a project
Open a project and you get six tabs. You will live in the first two.
| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Agent | Chat with the AI over your project. Modes for create, plan, ask and research, plus a preview browser for the deployed app. Long jobs can run in the background and push-notify you when they finish. |
| Code | The editor. File tree, tabs, project-wide search, symbol outline, tree-sitter syntax highlighting, save. |
| Content | Content and media work — AI content requests, page and content lists, a site audit, and generated images. |
| Database | View and provision development databases. |
| Publish | Deploys for exori-hosted projects, and per-target pull / commit & push / switch-branch cards for git projects. |
| Settings | Project metadata, status, the default tab when opening this project, and its Bridge pairing. |
On git projects, the toolbar branch button opens the Git manager: changes with a real diff view, branches and merges, history, and stashes.
Ship a change
Watch for the orange indicator
An orange publish icon means you have work that is not out yet — uncommitted git changes on a git project, or undeployed file changes on an exori-hosted one. It is the same signal everywhere it appears.
Commit and push, or deploy
Git projects: the commit sheet will summarise your changes with AI if you want a message written for you. Hosted projects: deploy from the Publish tab and the preview reloads when the deployment actually reports ready.
Native apps: build through Bridge
Build & Publish shows the Check Setup checklist above the Build button, so a missing piece is visible before you start rather than after a failure. The build runs on your Mac with your own signing credentials, and the log streams back.
What pairing a Mac adds
exori works on its own — cloud projects, the editor, git and deploys need no Mac at all. Pairing Bridge adds two things:
- Language-server intelligence in the editor, from real language servers running on your Mac against a shadow checkout of your repo — never your working copy.
- Native iOS and Android builds on your own machine, signed with credentials that stay in your Mac's Keychain.
Pairing is one QR scan and takes about a minute — Set up exori Bridge covers it end to end.
